And win a fortune in a game, my life would never be the same…

I swear I’m not making this up, and I’m not whinging for the sake of it, but I went over to M’s desk to ask her something about availability charges, and before I even got a chance, the VERY FIRST THING she said was

‘Look at all this. Look how much I’ve got to do, it’s ridiculous.’

Is she TRYING to depress me?

55 Degrees North is back, and you know what that means…

TWO, in fact. Don Gilet, and ohdamnI’veforgottenhisnameagain who was in Dog Soldiers. YAY hormones.

I’ve decided to take the more difficult role, but try to get more money. I spoke to Dad at some length, which helped, and then Parita was kind of pushing me. Yay for knowing an economics student – and the only other graduate in the company. Ha, I’m a graduate (no, this is not news, but it’s still cool)

Am really not enjoying Life Isn’t All Ha Ha Hee Hee, but finding it difficult to turn off. I utterly, totally want to smack Tania. WTF is the motivation for her character beyond being a bitch? And omg, was one of the little blonde girls the kid from the petit filou advert (‘now let’s go get your marbles back.’)

Book list:

Due to me never having enough space for my stuff, I’m having to get rid of a fair bit of it, including books *sniffle*. So here’s a list of the ones that I can bear to part with. Some of them, it has to be said, because I buy a lot of books from charity shops on the assumption that I’ll dislike them, and because I am trying to find chick lit that doesn’t drive me nuts (and if you’ve ever even considered reading a woman called Jane Green, my advice to you is DON’T). Anyway, I’m making no sense. On with the list:

Highland Fling Katie Fforde (chick lit)
Paradise Fields Katie Fforde (chick lit)
Shanghai Baby Wei Hui
Notes On A Scandal Zoe Heller
Perfume Patrick Süskind
Diary Chuck Palahniuk
What If? Ed. By Robert Crowley
Jeffrey Eugenides The Virgin Suicides
Last of the Amazons Steven Pressfield
Friends Like These Victoria Routledge (chick lit about friends who went to Cambridge. Or was it Oxford?)
Confessions of A Mask Yukio Mishima
The Subtle Knife Philip Pullman
The Amber Spyglass Philip Pullman
Northern Lights Philip Pullman
Immaculate Conceit Stella Duffy
The Handmaid’s Tale Margaret Atwood
Downsize This Michael Moore
Last Of The Amazons Steven Pressfield
Doctor Who The Space Age Steve Lyons
The Devil In The White City Erik Larson
Lirael Garth Nix
Abhorsen Garth Nix (yes, this is books two and three of a trilogy. Sorry)

You should all consider yourselves lucky that I threw away three of the worst offenders – and it breaks my heart to throw books away so be sure they were BAD. BAD BAD BAD.

If anyone wants any, let me know. If not, I’ll put up the list at work so everyone can boggle at my taste in literature...
